Is Your Blog Authentic?

The buzz word if the day at Cybher was ‘Authentic’, is your blog authentically you? It really got me thinking is my blog really reflective of me.

I have been blogging 3 years and I think my style and defiantly what I write about has changed over years. There have been period of time that I have written what I think people want to read or as a ‘mummy blogger’ I should be writing about.

That was one of the reasons I stopped writing New Mummy after 2 years I couldn’t be completely me and still write the blog. I didn’t want to write about potty training and tantrums anymore (well at least on my personal blog), I need a blog that showed who I was as a whole person not just as a Mother.

This blog is just over a year old and even though I don’t write as much as I used to I am still really proud of my little bit of the internet. I get to come here I write about whatever it is that’s on my mind and I feel no pressure on what I should be writing or how I write it.

I like to think that out of any of the blogs I write or have written that this one is 100% authentically me that it represents who I am.  Of course only those that have met me can tell me if its 100% authentic.

What do you think? Do you think my blog is authentically me?

Is your blog really reflecting you?

  1. I think my blog does reflect me. I blog about me, my writing, my kids and my books that I enjoy. That's me. I sometimes wish I blogged anonymously and I could blog about some things I wouldn't want others to read, but then I'd worry someone did find out. I blog for me and always have so I feel it does reflect me. x

  2. I think this blog comes across as authentic, not having been lucky enough to meet you but from your tweets to me I would say this is you!!!

I think (hope)my blog reflects me totally. I always feel comfortable in all I write there so for me hopefully that counts as authentic.

I don't like fake and usually can sniff it out a mile off! :-)

    1. The most important thing about blogging is that your true voice is out there, all the rest is just gravy

  5. There are 3 of us and we write honestly because we can as we are anonymous. No pics only back views. We think too many people judge people by what they look like.....Facebook?!! But you clearly think about your blog and without knowing you it appears very honest and authentic.
    Keep blogging. xx
