I've been blogging 3 years now and for the most part I love it. I finally found something that I enjoy doing and I am quite good at but every now and then I get the urge to delete it all and run away.
I currently have 4 of my own and I have to admit its getting hard to work on them all and my freelance work. I only work about 20 hours a week and priority goes to me freelance we some weeks leave me little time for the others. The issues I have is that I actually make money from my blogs so I don't want to give it up but sometimes it gets overwhelming and I get a little head in sand like.
I keep thinking to myself that this could all end tomorrow and people will stop reading what I write and forget all about me. Can you tell I have abandonment issues!
Would people really miss me if I wasn't here in the bloggosphere? Would someone else just take my place?
I have really lost my confidence and inspiration at the moment and I'm not sure where to find it.
If you see it send it back please.
I'd definitely miss you!! I totally get the being too busy for your own blog part and wanting to bury your head n the sand (I wishes I could sometimes!). But don't go!!
ReplyDeleteThank you I think I am staying put for a while though I am going to have a break
DeleteI'll be honest here, I wouldn't miss ANYONES blog if they disapeared, reading blogs to me is a bit of light entertainment, like dipping into a magazine...there are so, so, SO many blogs out there that one would quickly replace another. If you disappeared of twitter, well, that would be a different story!!!! Having spent a lot of time with you, I consider you a friend and whilst I don't read your (or anyones!) blog religiously, I would certainly missed you if you disappeared forever!!
ReplyDeleteI would miss you too x
DeleteI would miss reading, however, if it's feeling overwhelming maybe try and give yourself a break, even just for a few days. I'm sure you will miss it and will come back to it.
ReplyDeleteThank you Corinne I am about to have break x
DeleteI would definitely miss you and your blog, New Mummy was one of the first I started reading! I know exactly what you mean. I often think about stopping and doing something else with my time and then something reassuring will happen such as a nice message from someone which changes everything again. I think we've seen the blogging world change so much that it's hard to keep up with the changes and like you, I wonder if anyone would miss my blog given there are so many out there now. A break always helps - you can remember what you enjoy about it then. Stay away from the delete button!
ReplyDeleteIt has changed a lot and when I see that over 3000 are on the Tots I think will they notice If I'm not here.
DeleteI am staying away from the delete button at the moment x
I suffered the same as you recently and wrote a post about hitting the delete key but got through it and in doing so re-discovered what I love about blogging.
ReplyDeleteSomeone suggested a 'blog holiday' as a possible cure and thats always an option but if you do make sure you come back because you belong in the Bloggosphere x
Thank you I am going to have a break x
DeleteYou could have a blogging holiday as is suggested.
ReplyDeleteI often feel low about my blogging as no one comments yet I comment on blogs.
Don't give up I will drop by x
People hardly comment anymore, I used to get loads and most of my posts don't get any.
DeleteJust coming back to this as was bugging me....actually, I know why I don't get fed up of the whole blogging thing..it's because I DO take regular breaks...every 6 weeks or so, I won't read/write do anything bloggy...glad others have suggested that, it works for me!!
ReplyDeleteBig Hugs xxxx
I do love you SAM! Thank you x
DeleteI have been blogging for a year and started my second blog a few months ago, I find it hard to manage two so I can understand how you struggle with four! If I lose my inspiration then I just focus on other things until it comes back, and it always does! x
