Arms Dealers at the Park

After a rather wet start to the day I decided to take BG to the park to the park for the afternoon.

In the past few months BG's confidence has really grown and she love to talk and interact with other children, especially the older ones.

Today two boys who were 6 and 7 were playing shops underneath the slide, BG asked is she could play and they said yes. I normally move her away from the older children as I don't want her to annoy them plus at only 2  3/4 she is too young to play most of their games. As they were playing shops I let her play ( I was right next to them), what I didn't realise was it was a weapon and food shop (their words) and to be honest I was really shocked.

BG was being the shop keeper and they has for "rocket launchers" "old styles rifles" and "smokeless grenades" how do they know this stuff??

I very quickly moved BG on the slide and then the swings as I was not comfortable with her 'selling' guns and weapons. She kept wanting to go back and play and eventually I took her to get a ice cream, when we came back they were still there. She immediately ran over to play,  with them so I had to do some fancy footwork and got her to play on something else.

BG didn't understand what they were asking for and in the future I will be keeping her away from the older children.

Even now I feel uncomfortable at the thought of such young boys basically playing 'Arm dealers'.

Am I overreacting?

Having a Child is Not Easy

In a few short months BG will be 3, I can’t believe I will have been a mum for 3 whole years! The journey has not been easy by all means and I am sure I have tougher times to come. I was really lucky that I fell pregnant quickly with BG, we decided Christmas Day, started trying in the New Year and she was born in November. No endless tests, ovulation calendar or waiting for us and for that I will always be truly grateful.

Before you go off me I did have a horrendous pregnancy that started with a bit of nausea and ended with Gestational Diabetes and a whole host of pregnancy *niggles* along the way. Some days the only thing that kept me going was reading several pregnancy week by week guides. I read the ones in magazines, books and online just to make sure that everything was normal.

The birth wasn’t a piece of cake either. They tried to induce me early but BG wasn’t ready to be born so after 3 days if trying she was born by c-section. Then of course I have a child that doesn’t want to breastfeed! Only a few days old and already Miss Independent, feeding on her own terms.

Of course it’s not all bad there are some great bits about pregnancy.  All that shopping, buying the perfect things for your baby.  Choosing the name and find the name meanings, BG means ‘great and mighty’ which is spot on.

And the best thing of all is getting to old your baby for the first time, nothing can take that feeling away no matter how tired you where.

You then get to witness all the firsts, good and bad. We are currently in tantrum territory; I have to admit it’s a really draining time for us.

BG has decided that 4am-5am is an acceptable wake up time and no matter what we do we can’t seem to change it. It is not fun! OH gets up with her for a few hours then swaps me, which means long days and a lack of support for me in the mornings with her which makes my days super long at the moment. Just praying that it won’t last long.

It won’t will it?

Will The Blogging Police Please Bugger Off!

I am getting really, really annoyed with those blog posts that tell bloggers how to blog. You know the ones I mean not the ones that share practical and technical knowledge but those who feel they have the right to judge how other people write and run their blogs.

I'm not quite sure who gave them the right to sit in judgement on what other people do but I wish they would f*ck off, get a life and keep their nose out of other people's business.

Write what you like, when you like and how you like! That is the beauty of blogging there should be no rules.

If you don't like it don't read it.

Ok rant over.

What a Headache

I've had a headache since Wednesday. One of those pounding, eye watering headaches that not even the strongest of painkillers can touch and quite frankly it sucks!

And not just because I am in lots of pain and really shouldn't be on the laptop, but because it probably means something is wrong.  I don't mean "OMG I am dying wrong", I mean in a I suffer with depression, insomnia and I'm a bit stressed type wrong.

I have suffered on and off with headaches for years a bit like my depression, coincidence? I am not sure if my depression brings on my headaches or my headaches bring on depression but when I have one the other is not far behind.

I have had scans in the past to make sure there is nothing sinister about my headaches and they didn't find anything, the consultant just told me I am just a person that suffers with headaches, what a great help that was!

So now I have this headache and it won't go away and I can't work because it hurts to be on the computer more than 15 minutes at a time. I can't sleep because I am stressed because now I have even more work to do and its piling up and I am sure the lack of sleep is making my headache worse!!! arrrrrghhhhhhhhh

I am now trapped in this sleepless, painful, stressful circle and I am not quite sure how to break out of it.

I need help, or advice or sleep, or all three!

Queen of Bargains - LBD from Gap

I am a bit of a bargain Queen, if there is a bargain to be had I can sniff it out!

I went shopping with my Dad today to our local outlet shopping mall when I spotted this LBD in Gap.

Its was £5.99 in the sale but they also had an extra 30% off so it cost £4.19!

It fits really well and looks great on, so I am a happy bunny. You should always have a LBD in your wardrobe!
